Headline: Poppy Delevingne X Alexachung Collaborate For Save The Children

Caption: Long-standing Save the Children ambassador, Poppy Delevingne, has collaborated with ALEXACHUNG to create a t-shirt range for Save the Children, marking the charity’s 100-year anniversary and the launch of their Stop the War on Children campaign. The organic cotton t-shirts feature an illustration of a crescent moon face alongside the words ‘The Future is Now’. The slogan was inspired by the charity’s belief that every child should be able to make a mark on the world and hope for a better future. Priced at £25, the adult t-shirts come in navy blue, bright white and a limited edition run of canary yellow. The white t-shirt is also available in a range of children’s sizes from three to twelve-years priced at £15. At least 30 per cent from each t-shirt sale will go to Save the Children to help children all around the world, including those living in conflict, and are available exclusively to order from www.savethechildrenstore.com from Thursday 16th May. Poppy Delevingne said: “Having visited many Save the Children programmes over the past four years – most recently Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan a fortnight ago, I’ve met with some of the most inspiring and amazing children who, despite adversity and conflict, have not only survived to tell their stories but are now thriving and full of hope for a better future. It’s because of these children and their daily fight that Alexa and I wanted to create something that would help make a change and encourage people to do something good. The future is full of possibility so join us and help make a change for the millions of children that need it the most around the world. Buy our t-shirts and wear them proudly!” Alexa Chung said: “When coming up with the t-shirt design, I kept being drawn towards a crescent moon. To me it symbolises children’s dreams, hopes and the promise of a new day. Sadly, not all children have the chance to enjoy such innocent childhoods as millions are battling through conflicts started by adults. But they should, and we need to fight for their futures and help them fulfil their potential by ensuring all children are off limits in war. Their future, our future, starts now. Please join us and help raise vital funds for Save the Children.” Helena Wiltshire, Head of PR & Partnerships at Save the Children, said: “This year we are celebrating 100 years of Save the Children. We have been tirelessly fighting to ensure children can have a better future since 1919 and we’re both delighted and grateful to be working with our wonderful and committed ambassador Poppy Delevingne and the impressive Alexa Chung on this t-shirt campaign. All funds raised from the sales will help Save the Children continue to build better futures for children across the world. We cannot carry out our work without the support of the British public and we hope every customer takes pleasure in knowing their t-shirt purchase will help make a huge impact on children’s lives.” For the campaign, Poppy was styled by stylist and award-winning shoe designer Tabitha Simmons and photographed in the t-shirt by art director and photographer, Cass Bird. Gucci Westman provided make up and Conrad Dornan styled hair. Tabitha Simmons said: “Being a mum to three children makes this project even more personal to me and all it represents. Having the opportunity to style Poppy has been as much fun as it was rewarding. I absolutely love the design and colour range- particularly the yellow one as it’s a strong, sunny pop of colour, it will be the perfect summertime staple to throw on with a pair of jeans. I cannot wait to get them for my kids too!” To support Save the Children’s Stop the War on Children campaign and to see where some of the funds raised from the t-shirt sales could go, Poppy recently returned from a trip to Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. She met with children who have been affected by the conflict in Syria and had fled to safety in Jordan. The children she met were suffering from life changing injuries including loss of limbs and severe scars on their body caused by airstrikes and bomb blasts. They had also all experienced loss of family members and friends. Save the Children is supporting these children through its healthcare programme which helps to provide prosthetic limbs. The charity is also supporting the children’s mental health through its Coaching for Life programme which combines the expertise of The Arsenal Foundation and Save the Children to bring hope to the lives of Syrian refugees who have been mentally scarred by the brutality of war, improving their mental wellbeing and building their inner strength through football. It‘s progammes like these and the children that have suffered the most around the world that t-shirt sales will go towards helping. The t-shirts are manufactured by Teemill, an ethical, sustainable t-shirt manufacturer that only uses traceable GOTS certified organic cotton & plastic-free packaging. Each product has a unique code which allows customers to track the journey of a t-shirt from seed to shop and meet with people who made the product too.
