Caption: Firefighters had a shock when they spotted what appeared to be a baby when responding to a house fire on Tuesday (12 Mar). Thermal imaging equipment showed the shape of a child in a high chair in the Oklahoma property. Thankfully, the figure turned out to be nothing more than a creepy doll - soot making it a terrifying sight to behold. Oklahoma City Fire Department re-enacted what happened to highlight the challenges their crews face. They commented: "Things are not always as they seem! In this case...THANK GOODNESS! Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1200 block of SW Binkley this morning just after 7 a.m. Dispatchers told responding firefighters that someone may still be inside. Arriving firefighters immediately initiated fire attack and a search for possible victims. "Firefighters utilized a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) as they conducted their search. You can imagine their thought process when through the smoky room, firefighters saw what appeared to be a baby in a chair. They quickly moved closer to conduct a rescue. Thankfully, no rescue was necessary. It was just a doll. The firefighters moved on and completed their search. As it turned out, nobody was inside. "We thought you may find this recreation of the event interesting. Firefighters have a difficult job at best. It's nice when we can share something a bit more light-hearted with you about what we do. This one, while only briefly, really got some hearts racing!"
