Headline: Hispano Suiza Reveals Retro-Futuristic Supercar With A 1930s Feel That Will Cost €1.5 Million

Caption: Spanish automotive and engineering company Hispano Suiza has unveiled its electric retro-futuristic supercar that looks like it's come straight out of the 1930s. The Hispano-Suiza Carmen, named after the company president’s mother who passed away last year, will be a 1,005bhp electric hypercar. It's made its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Carmen is inspired by the early-20th-century Dubonnet Xenia, baring visual similarities when shown side by side. The new edition has sliding doors, an enveloping windscreen, and futuristic lines. A carbon fibre monocoque and body panels keep its weight under 1,690 kg. Two red circular lights can be found beneath the rear arch, meanwhile riveted panels cover the wheels exposing only the bottom treads. The Carmen’s range is currently 400 km (250 miles) using splitters, diffusers, and other aero components to give this car a surprisingly low 0.325 drag coefficient. It boasts an impressive 1,019 horsepower via its dual electric motors found in each rear wheel offering a 250-mile range. The motor takes less than 3 seconds to reach 62 mph and has a top speed limited electronically to 250 km/h (155 mph). Hispano Suiza is currently taking pre-orders for the Carmen which will be priced at €1.5 million or nearly $1.7 million in the U.S.. The Carmen will launch a limited batch of 19 units during a 2019-2021 production run. An official customer launch is expected to take place in June 2020.
