Caption: Plans have been revealed for the world's largest yacht. The impressive £600m 'Valkyrie Project' would be an amazing 229 metres (750ft) long. It would have room for 52 guests in 26 cabins, with 92 crew members keeping things afloat. The concept is the brainchild of Chulhun Park, 36, now chief designer for Latvia-based Latitude yachts, having previously worked for Palmer Johnson Yachts as a senior exterior designer. Onboard, there is an entire deck for the owner, as well as a casino, a theatre, a gallery, and a convention hall. Mr Park explains: "The Valkyrie project was my thesis project supported by Palmer Johnson at Royal College of Art in London. It took eight months to design her. "Having seen too many conventional white yachts which were vertically stacked like wedding cakes, I was determined to design a visually unique yacht which would stand out from a fleet. A postmodern architecture movement known as Deconstructivism inspired me to come up with the notion for this yacht. I was interested in manipulating a structure’s surface to create non-rectilinear shapes, which appear to distort and dislocate elements of shape. Unique exterior design can be new trend in yacht design industry. Also, fast developing technology can make this complex surface design applicable very soon."
