They form part of a stunning collection collated by Airman Magazine, the official publication of the Air Force, who describe the images as "aerial art". The evolving gallery features recent highlights including the Thunderbirds Delta formation performing a pass by New York's Freedom Tower in September 2018. Other highlights, chosen by Cover Images press agency, include a A-10 Thunderbolt II performing an explosive air to ground firing demonstration at Nevada's Nellis Air Force Base. Elsewhere, an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter manifests an impressive silhouette against the sun after returning from an exercise mission at Nellis Air Force Base, while there is the otherwordly sight of 500 drones performing a choreographed light show against the evening sky during an Independence Day celebration on 5 July, 2018, at Travis Air Force Base in California. Airman Magazine explains: "Since its early days as a service, the Air Force has embraced technological advances in air and space capabilities and played an integral role as a global airpower. Airman Magazine regularly updates Airman Aerials, a photographic art gallery, featuring some of the best aerial photography from around the service in recent history. The staff plans to continually expand the gallery with new aerial art from some of the best Air Force photographers." Airman is the official magazine of the U.S. Air Force. It contains the stories of the Air Force, the people, equipment and technology.
