Christine, from Spokane, Washington, explains: "I shot these bat-eared foxes outside their den. My travel guide informed me it is unusual to see bat-eared foxes in good lighting because they are nocturnal and very skittish. "At one point I captured what I believe is the adult male with the kit resting outside of their den. Males protect the den while the female forages for food."
