Headline: Ugly Christmas Sweaters Are Big Business For Single Mother

Caption: Stop Chrismas - these ugly festive sweaters win! Single mother-of-three Deb Rottum, 48, has made making garish Christmas jumpers an art form. Deb, from Weslet Chapel, Florida, began adding fun seasonal items to jumpers four years ago. She now has 550 of them going out to customers this year. Her jumpers often feature toys sewn on, including the Grinch, polar bears and Minnie Mouse. There is even a hilarious version featuring a stripper, complete with pole, being watched by gingerbread men. Deb explains: "I started created the sweaters in 2014. Just as a hobby for extra Christmas money. Once a blogger made fun of me and I was published in a UK magazine, my business bloomed! Who would have thought a little time South Dakota girl with three kids would become so popular from a little part time job. "Four years later I have expanded to hats, purses, shoes, dresses, skirts and pants. I have taken over my daughter's room after she moved away to college this year. Each year I try to top my creations from the year before. This year I added two battery operated lights to my Barbie north pole stripper sweater and have a surplus of "The Grinch" items. "I have always been a one girl show, from collecting/buying the items, making the sweaters, photos, listing on the 2 selling sites, selling and shipping them out. Depending on the sweater it takes me 30 - 1 1/2 hrs to create them. My sweaters range from $25-$119. I make sweaters kids sizes up to adult 5xl. "I don't ever plan to expand my holidays, the main reason people buy my sweaters is for the ugly sweater party they have been invited to and they want a winner. I feel with all the store bought sweaters that are now available, the real "Winners" are the ones that can only be handmade with lights, 3D decorations, tinsel, bows and heart!"
