A specialised aerial photographer has celebrated the way we used to fly pre-lockdown with a selection of his stunning airport pictures. Jeffrey Milstein uses high-level photographic equipment and shoots through open windows and doors of chartered planes and helicopters as they pass over the airports. His work sees him having to get rare official permission to take his shots. The New York-based photographer’s stunning pictures show international hubs in full flow in normal times – with passenger planes looking like children’s toys. Jeffrey explains: “Part of my fascination with flying is how things look from above, the patterns you see. It’s kind of like a living organism, there are lines of airplanes and then the cars that move have their lanes and the trains taking people around are moving on another level, so there are all of these things, and it’s interesting how it happens.”
