California's Healdsburg Police are investigating the disappearance on 5 October of the public artwork “Hammer” that was on display at the Healdsburg Community Center. Officers initially thought it could have been a high school prank, but are now appealing for information as to its whereabouts. The art installation, estimated to be worth $15,000, was on loan from the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation as part of the City’s temporary art installation program. It is made from steel and wood and measures 20ft long. Healdsburg Community Center is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to its recovery, according to the Press Democrat.
