Describing the incident in Kalmthout, Belgium, Jessica explains: "As a woodpecker comes into her territory and tries to steal her insects, the little owl defends her post. Even though she only stares at the bird, it is so intimidated by her action that it rushes off. "We've put some insects there hoping the owl would land on the post, but then the woodpecker came along and tried to take it from the owl, who claimed them."
