Caption: A U.S. police officer released a bear trapped in a car... by shooting out the back window. The cop from California's El Dorado County Sheriff's Office decided that firing high-projectile bean bags at the vehicle would be safer than attempting to open the door. The policeman is heard telling the female car owner: "I'm going to try and break out the back window with a bean bag." He had already told the owner the young bear had "done a little bit of damage in there. We're going to try and get him out because he's not happy at all." El Dorado County Sheriff's Office later stated: "Yes... bears can open doors. A reminder from EDSO to leave your vehicle's locked and remove ALL food from inside, especially in bear country. It was much safer for the Sgt... and the bear, to access the vehicle this way."
