Headline: Company Create Eco-Friendly Bamboo Motorcycle

Caption: A motorcycle made from bamboo has been created. The Green Falcon by Philippines-based Banatti has been made to highlight green transportation solutions for the country. Banatti say their idea is in response to the Philippine Department of Energy and Natural Resources's promise to plant 1m hectares of bamboo by 2020 to rehabilitate former mining areas and help with erosion control, CO2 control and to provide building materials. The firm say that if there is demand they will hand-build a limited edition of 111 units of the eye-catching electric vehicle, which will cost £16,500 each. Green Falcon is the brainchild of designer Christopher Paris Lacson and his team. Christopher says: "We are in final pre-production version working prototype of The Green Falcon, street trials and testing is right ahead." Expected performance will see capable speeds of up to 110kph, but limited to 60kph for local speed limits. Driving range for the electric motor would allow it to travel 60kms if "one is not hard on the accelerator". Christopher says this bamboo vehicle will lead the way for a bamboo-contructed four-wheeled vehicle. He explains: "More important to the context of very necessary green transportation solutions for our country, the Green Falcon is a scaled-down version of what my business partner Leo Dominguez calls “our business card for what we want to do next, The Modern Jeepney, aka, Meepney, aka, Bamboo Jeepney”. The Green Falcon will be shown again in the upcoming Manila Fame 2018 Show.
