Headline: Motorist Finds Six Baby Raccoons Hiding In Engine

Caption: Car trouble? A motorist was surprised to find SIX baby racoons hiding in their engine. Thankfully Guilford Police Animal Shelter were on hand to assist at the car owner's Connecticut home. A shelter spokesperson says: "We were called out to a home for what became quite the call! "What was originally thought to be three raccoons, turned out to be six baby raccoons, and four decided a car engine would be a good place to hide! "Animal Control Officer Borrelli and Police Officer FitzPatrick had their hands full getting the little ones safely out of the car engine, with some help from our friends at Public Works who had the tools we needed. "The car was jacked up, and parts of the engine removed to reach the little ones from under the car, gently taking them back out the way that they had climbed up. "The four who climbed into the engine and the two caught outside it were all safely brought to a local wildlife rehabilitator. Attempts were made to find their mother, but sadly we couldn't locate her. "They'll be well cared for until they're old enough to be released - hopefully a little wiser when picking hiding spots!"
