Caption: IN PHOTO: Kieran and Ryan in New York An Australian artist and film maker has dedicated an Instagram page to documenting his travels - complete with his plastic toy Godzilla figurine named Ryan. Kieran Murray Photoshops Ryan into real life situations as he travels around the world. Exploring cities from New York to London, Murray's images act as a sort of diary for each city, noting architecture and other landmarks along the way. From London‘s Big Ben to Chicago’s skyline, Ryan is seen hilariously posing in the photos. Kieran left Australia for a coast to coast trip across America, before heading to Europe. "The whole project came into fruition really organically." explains Murray. "I had just started travelling alone. I flew to Chicago and was wondering around on July 4th when I saw a comic book shop. I went in thinking i’d buy a cool souvenir. Our eyes met across the room; I knew I needed that Godzilla figurine. And I’m not even a Godzilla fan, I’ve only seen one of the movies. But I knew he was special. I asked the clerk how much for him. He said $8, I said take my money!" "That afternoon I went to see the fireworks over the pier on Lake Michigan and that’s when I had the ingenious idea to hold Godzilla up in front of the camera so it looked like he was as big as the Chicago skyline. From then on it was easier for me to take photos of Godzilla in front of landmarks then to ask strangers to take photos of me in from of landmarks." "I decided to exercise my Photoshop skills to really bring him to life. I also gave him the name Ryan and a personality to boot. A personality that seemed most ridiculous for such a colossal creature; He can’t hold his alcohol, doesn’t like scary movies and obsesses about his appearance and takes a long time to get ready!"
