Headline: Vintage Fathers Day

Caption: **THE COPYRIGHT WATERMARK MUST STAY ON THE IMAGE ONLINE** To celebrate Father's Day, this charming gallery of images takes a historical look at dads over the last 122 years. They show quality time together in parks, days at the beach or doing daddy things such as fishing, cricket, or riding miniature trains. The treasure trove of memories are the result of a painstaking recent digitisation project by The Francis Frith Collection archive, which has seen all 300,000 images in their archive catalogued and scanned. The historical images captured offer a fascinating snapshot of how we used to live. In 1860, the famous pioneering photographer Francis Frith set out to create a photographic record of Britain, with an aim to document every city, town and village. His photographers also caught the British public at work, rest and play. Highlights include: - A 1965 image showing a father and son fishing in the river Fife - A 1955 father and his family using a sightseeing telescope in Cromer, Norfolk - A father in suit and straw boater on the beach with a family in 1906
