Caption: Are you trendy - or brave - enough to wear a male ROMPER? The creators of the £75 RompHim say it has been created to "revolutionise men’s fashion, one piece at a time". Chicago-based ACED Design say they are "a group of business school friends who decided to try to bring something new to menswear". Others are buying into the idea, as their current Kickstarter crowdfund campaign has seen a whopping $364,577 pledged of a $10,000 goal. ACED explain: "Though the idea came to us last year, our design journey started in earnest in early 2017. We began working with a leading Chicago fashion design consultancy to turn our vision into a reality, and then partnered with local Chicago cut and sew shops to manufacture our sample run. We launched our Kickstarter on May 15, 2017 to secure the capital needed to make our first large-scale run at our production facilities here in Chicago. "We were sitting around one evening and got to talking about the men's clothing options out there. Everything was either too corporate…too fratty…too "runway"…or too basic. Something was missing. Why wasn’t there anything out there that allowed guys to be more stylish and fun without also sacrificing comfort, fit, and versatility? "The more we thought about it, the more we realised that a romper hits all of these attributes – they can be dressed up or down and they’re unique, fashionable, and cool. But the one thing a romper didn’t have? A version for men. So we set out to fix that. "We all go to business school together, so we knew more about starting corporations than starting clothing lines. That's why we found an expert - one of Chicago's top fashion design consultancies. We've worked hand in hand with them to bring the RompHim to life. We cycled through countless prototypes, pattern changes, and fabric suppliers to create a garment that wears as good as it looks.
