Headline: Shipping Container Swimming Pool

Caption: Fancy a dip - in your backyard shipping container? A company has created a revolutionary new swimming pool made from the cargo carriers. Modpools say their pool takes minutes to set up, is relocatable and can convert into a hot-tub and back again. Temperature, jets and lighting can be controlled from your smartphone. The patent pending pool utilises the structural rigidity of a modified shipping container and has all plumbing and functions already built-in. It comes in either 8 x 20 ft dimensions or 8 x 40 ft. "What we mean when we say it can be set up in minutes, is that it delivers as fully functional, so all the plumbing, heater and electrical are all built into the pool," Modpool's Sammy Diab tells New Atlas. "So once you lay it on the foundations, you make two service connections, which are really just your gas connection and an electrical plug. And once you fill it with water, it is ready to go." "Unlike conventional pools that can take weeks to pour and cure, your Modpool can be up in running within minutes of its arrival. Add a Modpool divider to quickly convert your pool into a hot-tub, and back again." says the Canadian company. Modpools say their efficient heater can increase water temperature at 30°c/hour in -10°c weather. "The pool of the future has arrived," adds the company. Expect to pay US$26,900 for the 8 x 20 ft model or $35,000 for the 40ft version.
