Lamborghini has unveiled its fastest ever open-top supercar, the Fenomeno Roadster.

Only 15 examples of the new vehicle will be built, each powered by a V12 hybrid drivetrain producing a combined output of 1,080 CV.

The Fenomeno Roadster is based on the Fenomeno Coupé first shown in 2025.

Lamborghini says the two-seater combines track-focused engineering with a new aerodynamic design developed by its Centro Stile design division.

“Fenomeno Roadster represents the purest expression of our brand values: visionary design, uncompromising performance, and absolute exclusivity,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president and chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini.

“It is a unique interpretation of driving emotion, created for a select group of customers who seek something truly beyond convention. Each example is conceived as a collectible masterpiece, where engineering excellence meets true bespoke craftsmanship.”

At the heart of the car is Lamborghini’s first V12 hybrid High Performance Electrified Vehicle system fitted to an open two-seater. The 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine is paired with three electric motors and a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery.

According to the company, the Fenomeno Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of more than 340 km/h (211 mph).

The car’s carbon-fibre chassis is based on what Lamborghini calls a “monofuselage” structure inspired by aerospace engineering. The manufacturer says this allows high rigidity while keeping weight to a minimum.

The model also features manually adjustable racing suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes developed using motorsport technology. Tyres have been specially developed by Bridgestone, Lamborghini’s technical partner, and are fitted to 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels.

A significant focus of the project was aerodynamics. Lamborghini said the Roadster has been redesigned to maintain the same levels of downforce and stability as the coupé despite lacking a fixed roof.

New airflow systems channel cooling air to the V12 engine while reducing turbulence within the cockpit. Engineers also developed low-profile carbon rollover protection structures designed to minimise wind noise at high speed.

The design draws inspiration from historic Lamborghini racing cars and the brand’s Essenza SCV12 hypercar. Its styling includes a low-profile windscreen, sculpted side intakes and a rear section influenced by 1970s endurance racing prototypes.

“With the Fenomeno Roadster, we are continuing the dream of many Lamborghini enthusiasts. It’s an exclusive and precious looking design; the Fenomeno Roadster represents the ‘feel like a pilot’ philosophy. At the same time, we are showcasing the relentless creativity of our Centro Stile, which has been actively creating Lamborghini designs for more than 20 years,” said Mitja Borkert.

The interior features carbon-fibre materials, digital displays and aviation-inspired controls intended to reinforce the company’s “Feel Like a Pilot” concept.

The launch version is finished in Blu Cepheus paintwork with Rosso Mars accents, colours Lamborghini says pay tribute to the Italian city of Bologna.
