Churchill Statue in Westminster Defaced with Controversial Graffiti. The statue of Sir Winston Churchill in Parliament Square was vandalized overnight with graffiti reading "Zionist war criminal.” Additional phrases like "Stop the Genocide" and "Free Palestine" were sprayed on the iconic sculpture in red paint. The message "Never again is Now" and "Globalise the Intifada" were also written on the statue. The statue has been cordoned off as authorities begin the cleaning process. Dave Rich from the Community Security Trust highlighted further extremist symbols, including a Hamas red triangle, found in the graffiti. The statue, located at the north-east corner of Parliament Square, was installed in 1973. The Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police warned last December that chants like "globalise the intifada" could lead to arrests. Both police forces' actions followed recent terror attacks in Bondi Beach and Manchester’s Heaton Park synagogue.
