Caption: It's just the beer talking.. A new device writes personalised messages on top of your pint. Beer Ripples can spell out Instagram-friendly words on any foam-topped beer within seconds. Rockville, Maryland-based company Ripples have previously used the same technology on frothy coffee, but realised beer drinkers might enjoy the idea. The device used malt-based ink, producing beer-based shades to maintain "the natural beer experience". Customers can send a photo, personal image or message to the machine through the Ripples mobile app, and Ripples’ provides content/images from its library of hundreds of images and messages. New images are regularly uploaded in real-time to Ripple Makers around the world. High quality images or messages on foam topped beer can be created in just 11 seconds. “We are excited to unveil Beer Ripples and bring the same personalization to beers as we have over the past two years with coffee customers around the world,” said Yossi Meshulam, CEO of RipplesTM. “We have already served millions of Ripples with customers such as Hilton, Lavazza, Four Seasons, and restaurants and coffee shops around the world. Now, venues serving beer from pubs and clubs to hotels and sporting venues can take advantage of the opportunities for engagement, loyalty and emotional connection that RipplesTM provides.” Beer Ripples is available now in the U.S. and Canada for $3,000 with an annual subscription fee of $1,500, which includes all consumables for up to 6,000 prints, customer service support and advice on best content practices. The system will be available globally soon.
