Headline: Ultimate Axe: The 18 String Guitar

Caption: How's this for the ultimate axe? A company have created an electric guitar with a finger twisting 18 strings. Australian firm Ormsby Guitars were tasked with building a functional 18 string multiscale instrument, ready for "the universal shred war." It came after YouTube guitar star Jared Dines began a mission to find a luthier to make him a 17-string guitar. He had a disappointing experience when a US builder reportedly scammed him out of $1,200 with the promise of a non-existent model. Thankfully Perth-based guitar expert Perry Ormsby offered his services - and created the jaw-dropping one-off Djent 2018. In case you were wondering, the strings take Dines two hours to tune and are tuned as such: A, E, B, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#, G#, D#, E, B, F#, C#, G# and D# Ormsby Guitars, who say this will be a one-off model, say: "Featuring an 18-string multiscale fret layout, this guitar could quite possibly defeat the black-holes of the Perseus galaxy for lowest note in the universe." The Jared Dines ‘DJENT 2018’ 18 string multiscale features: - Intricate Jared Dines logo portrait and ‘1/0’ DJENT inlays made of exotic stones, woods, shells, plus glow in the dark material, set into an extra wide African ebony fretboard - A select 2-piece Tasmanian Blackwood body and 9-piece Mahogany, Tasmanian Blackwood and Ebony neck, with 3 dual-action truss-rods and carbon reinforcements - Genuine stone top and headstock cover with carbon fibre rear headstock reinforcement plate - Hipshot USA hardware, including single saddles, locking tuners, and controls - Custom Ormsby pickups designed to cover the wide range of frequencies this guitar was built to produce. - Light up LED ‘Ormsby Guitars DJENT2018’ logo set into clear acrylic, suspended over the headstock void Ormsby say this model will not be made again, but other full handmade instruments start from $2999 USD.
