Headline: Fox Gets His Head Stuck In A Fence

Caption: The RSPCA and a first responder from Kent Fire and Rescue Service rescued a fox who had found himself trapped in a very tight spot. The fox was trapped by his neck between a wall and a fence after it is thought he had been trying to jump through a gap, but slipped through. The incident was on Friday, 28 of July in Hazel Road, Dartford, and was reported to the RSPCA by a concerned member of the public. RSPCA Inspector Rosemary Leach attended and tried to free the fox herself, but he was well and truly jammed in and was getting weaker and weaker and struggling to breath. She requested the assistance of the fire service and first responder officer attended. The officer was then able to pull the fence and create a big enough gap for Inspector Leach to get the fox out. She said: “The fox was well and truly jammed and there was no way he could get out by himself. “He had superficial wounds to his right foot where he had clearly been scrambling to get out. I took him to the South Essex Wildlife Hospital for treatment, and after a couple of days of monitoring he was able to be released back to the wild on Tuesday, 1 August. “I would like to thank the fire officer for their work in rescuing the fox they were great and also thank South Essex Wildlife Hospital for caring for him.”
