An officer from St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office was called to after the wild creature was seen appearing to take an interest in the selection of Christmas trees for sale. A spokesperson for the Sheriff's office said: "All joking aside, the beaver was safely rescued by animal control and was released to a wildlife rehabilitator."
