Caption: A cat and pug that hiked 1500km across Spain together are to have a children's book made about their adventures. Bandito, a pug, and his cat pal Luigi became online stars after their owners posted pictures of their travels on social media. Sebastian Smetham, 32, from the UK, and 27-year-old Norweigan Finn Paus, decided on a whim to sell everything they owned and set off with their pets in a doggy stroller. They set off from Sitges, near Barcelona, and managed to take in several Spanish national parks and the 780 km-long Camino de Santiago trail. Now colourful illustrated book 'The Adventures of Pug and Cat' will document some of their adventures along the way. Sebastian says: "Bandito is a fawn pug of 7 years. He is from San Sadourni de Anoia in Catalunya Spain where they make the cava! Luigi is a Scottish fold cat he is nearly 2 years old. He is from Valencia. We have had them both since 6-8 weeks old. They quickly became friends and have a very close bond that constantly amazes us. It was really down to them that we went on the walks. The reaction on social media was a big shock as we certainly did not anticipate any. We only used Facebook to contact family and people kept asking to see their journey so we stopped in a cafe with wifi one day and made "pugandcat" We certainly never thought there would be a website or a children's book. The book is based on the walk, for a young audience who will hopefully enjoy Bandito and Luigi as much as everyone else."
